SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS

· Applied for and received United Way grants for Happy Camper, Home Mobility Aids, and Aid to the Blind totaling $20,000.00.

· Fiscal Audit with no exceptions.

· Happy Camper sent 177 children to 11 camps throughout North Carolina and raised $19,260.00.

· Achieved substantial compliance in seven outcome areas of Child Welfare Review.

· Maintained 0% error rate in Food Stamps Program.

· Achieved 100% compliance in Medicaid Program Monitoring.

· Received $30,000.00 additional federal dollars due to success in locating homes and finalizing adoptions for children.

ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE

· Served 4490 households with Low Income Energy Assistance.

· Issued an average of $527,380.00 per month in Food Assistance to 2650 households and 5888 recipients.

· Provided Medicaid assistance to a monthly average of 8465 adults and children for an annual cost of $54,767,648.00.

· Assisted 44 adults in obtaining employment and exiting Work First roles and maintained a 96% retention rate for those adults maintaining employment and staying off Work First roles.

· Provided North Carolina Health Choice to a monthly average of 898 children.

· Investigated 190 cases of public welfare fraud and recovered $67,400.00 in benefits paid back.

ADULT SERVICES

· Received 67 reports of abuse, neglect and/or exploitation of disabled adults.

· Assessed 40 reports of abuse, neglect or exploitation of disabled adults.

· Investigated 6 complaints against facilities.

· Provided  services to a monthly average of 109 recipients in the Community Alternatives Programs which allowed these individuals to remain at home.

· The agency served as court appointed guardian for 10 adults.

CHILDREN’S SERVICES

· 549 reports of child abuse/neglect were received.

· 396 cases of child abuse/neglect were investigated/assessed.

· Monthly average of 66 foster children were in custody.

· 3 Foster Homes were licensed or re-licensed.

· 15 Children were placed in permanent homes.

· Completed 16 adoptions

FAMILY SERVICES

· Provided subsidized childcare to an average of 429 children per month.

· Interviewed a monthly average of 418 people for emergency assistance.

· Provided transportation assistance to a monthly average of 188 people.
