SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS

· Applied for and received United Way grants for Care and Share, Happy Camper, Home Mobility Aids, and Aid to the Blind totaling $23,000.00.

· Fiscal Audit with no exceptions.

· Happy Camper sent 150 children to 12 camps throughout North Carolina and raised $15,000.00.

· Achieved substantial compliance in outcome areas of State and Federal IVE Audit.

· Maintained 0% error rate in Food Stamps Program.

· Achieved 100% compliance in Medicaid Program Monitoring.

· Received $30,000.00 additional federal dollars due to success in locating homes and finalizing adoptions for children.

· Issued 238 Child Labor Certificates

· Submitted 362 voter registration forms to Board of Elections

ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE

· Served 1743 households with Low Income Energy Assistance.

· Issued an average of $582,187.00 per month in Food Assistance to 2780 households and 6202 recipients.

· Provided Medicaid assistance to a monthly average of 9045 adults and children for an annual cost of $61,067,164.00.

· Assisted 26 adults in obtaining employment and exiting Work First roles and maintained a 96% retention rate for those adults maintaining employment and staying off Work First roles.

· Provided North Carolina Health Choice to a monthly average of 917 children.

· Investigated 245 cases of public welfare fraud and recovered $111,988.00 in benefits paid back.

ADULT SERVICES

· Received 69 reports of abuse, neglect and/or exploitation of disabled adults.

· Assessed 49 reports of abuse, neglect or exploitation of disabled adults.

· Investigated 17 complaints against facilities.

· Provided  services to a monthly average of 113 recipients in the Community Alternatives Programs which allowed these individuals to remain at home.

· The agency served as court appointed guardian for 10 adults.

CHILDREN’S SERVICES

· 561 reports of child abuse/neglect were received.

· 378 cases of child abuse/neglect were investigated/assessed.

· Monthly average of 81 foster children were in custody.

· Maintained license of 7 foster homes.

· 30 Children were placed in permanent homes.

· Completed 9 adoptions

· Provided subsidized childcare to an average of 489 children per month.

· Interviewed a monthly average of 435 people for emergency assistance.

· Provided transportation assistance to a monthly average of 158 people.
